Dr Diana Semmonds is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and refractive surgery.

She is actively involved in the training of future ophthalmologists at Sydney Eye Hospital and has held various positions on a number of boards and committees.

Dr Diana Semmonds is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specialising in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr Semmonds has performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries and is very experienced in dealing with difficult cases. She uses cutting edge technology, using the femtosecond laser for much of her cataract surgery. She uses a special tissue glue when performing pterygium surgery. Dr Semmonds is skilled at managing medical eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and blepharitis.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

She is a visiting consultant in ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital where she conducts an out patient clinic and operating session. She is actively involved in the training of future ophthalmologists.

Dr Semmonds has held positions on a number of boards and committees. She was Vice President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and has been chair of the NSW Branch. She is a director on the Board of the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation. She is on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Sight Foundation Theatre at SEH (Chair) and Ophthalmic Surgery Centre.

Dr Semmonds ensures that she keeps up with the very latest in ophthalmic medicine and surgery by attending frequent Australian and international meetings. She has been a speaker  at a number of these meetings.

Dr Michael Jones specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, cataract and general ophthalmology.

Michael is currently the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney.

Michael is currently the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Head of the Strabismus Unit at the Sydney Eye Hospital and a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney. Michael undertook sub-specialty fellowship training at the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada) where he received the Morin Award for most outstanding fellow. Michael undertook further subspecialty training in retinoblastoma with Brenda Gallie. He has a keen interest in teaching and research and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Sydney in mitochondrial DNA and age-related maculopathy. Michael has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers, book chapters and is regularly invited to present at scientific meetings nationally and internationally. Michael contributes to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology as secretary and treasurer of the strabismus society and to the Sydney Eye Hospital as secretary and treasurer of the Medical Staff council as well as on the scientific committee of the Alumni Association. Dr Jones operates privately at Chatswood Private Hospital.

Dr Caroline Catt specialises in paediatric & general ophthalmology, and strabismus, including cataract surgery and strabismus surgery.

She is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney, Department of Ophthalmology and is a CASA-certified Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist.

Dr Caroline Catt specialises in paediatric & general ophthalmology, and strabismus, including cataract surgery and strabismus surgery. She graduated with degrees from the University of Sydney and the Flinders University of South Australia and completed her ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, where she was appointed the Professorial Fellow. She undertook her fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, to expand her training in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery. She was the recipient of the prestigious Dr JD Morin award for excellence as a clinical fellow in the areas of clinical care, research and education.

Dr Catt is friendly, empathic and gives the time and attention required to understanding her patient’s needs. She undertakes research in clinical ophthalmology, has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international scientific meetings. She is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney, Department of Ophthalmology and is a CASA-certified Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist.

Dr Georgina Clark is a medical retina, uveitis and cataract specialist. She has a particular interest in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusion, uveitis, and cataract.

Dr Georgina Clark is a medical retina, uveitis and cataract specialist. She has a particular interest in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusion, uveitis, and cataract. 

She has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Stanford University. She earned her medical degree with honours from the University of Sydney, and was awarded on graduation the Harry J Clayton Memorial Prize for excellence in Medicine and Clinical Medicine, among other prizes. She completed her Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital, including a year as Westmead Hospital Senior Registrar. At the Bristol Eye Hospital, in the United Kingdom, she earned sub-specialty fellowship qualifications in Medical Retina and Uveitis, working with internationally renowned supervisor Professor Andrew Dick. After her fellowship, she became a Specialist Consultant in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Bristol Eye Hospital. She has extensive experience in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other diseases of the retina, as well as complex uveitis cases. 

Georgina has a strong interest in research, and was a co-investigator on over a dozen clinical trials. She has received a number of prestigious research grants, and awards for her work, both in Australia and abroad. 

She also enjoys time with her family, bushwalking and surfing.
